This is a story about two quilts and a church. One hundred years ago, the women of First Methodist Church began a fundraiser. The fundraiser took the form of a quilt made by the women. The contributor's to the fundraiser had their names stitched onto the squares of the quilt. Their monetary contributions went into a building fund to build our present church building.
Now, one hundred years later, the History and Archives Committee has decided to sponsor a "Second Century Quilt." The funds raised will go into the church building fund to help with our remodeling project. There will be 56 squares with room for at least 224 individual names with 16 letters or less. There is a $25 donation requested for each individual name. Names can be either living or deceased individuals. The quilt will follow the same pattern as the first quilt which can be viewed in the back of the sanctuary.
